Over the course of each year EQC conducts many meetings and public forums and issues numerous recommendations and resolutions. Resolutions are denoted by bullets and are generally listed under the meeting during which they were approved.
Feb. 24, 2000 - Meeting included legislative update for the 2000 General Assembly, resolution on mandatory garbage collection, Black Mountain discussion, Dr. Rice Leach with the Kentucky Department for Health discussed on-site sewage and Bob Logan with the Department for Environmental Protection discussed Confined Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) regulations.
March 22, 2000 - Meeting included an update from the 2000 legislative sessions by Bruce Williams and Tom FitzGerald, presentations about the Environmental Education Master Plan and the Environmental Education Council and discussion concerning tire burning at Owensboro Municipal Utilities power plant.

May 18, 2000 - Meeting included a wrap-up of the 2000 legislative session by Bruce Williams and Tom FitzGerald; a presentation by Secretary James Bickford regarding CAFOs and his plans concerning regulation of junkyards; an overview of proposed air regulations by Millie Ellis and Gerry Ennis; an update on efforts to purchase Blanton Forest by Don Dott, executive director of the Kentucky State Nature Preserves Commission; and a presentation by Debby Minton of the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority on delivery of potable water.
June 21, 2000 - Overview of proposed CAFOs regulations by Bruce Scott with the Kentucky Division of Water. Bill Kovacic reviewed the federal Office of Surface Mining's policy concerning mountaintop removal coal mining. Gene Blair with the Kentucky Division of Water and Wayne Davis with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources discussed two large spills and impacts to water quality and aquatic life.

July 26, 2000 - Diana Andrews and Lona Brewer from the Kentucky Division for Air Quality gave an overview of 401 KAR 51:200 Regional NOx emission requirements and pending issues in the Division for Air Quality, including the 8-hour ozone standard, PM 2.5 Standard and NOx SIP Call.
Aug. 28, 2000 - EQC held a meeting at the Park Mammoth Resort located at Park City to review proposed air quality rules. EQC was briefed on the cleanup of the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant by Mike Welch and Tuss Taylor with the Kentucky Division of Waste Management and Mr. Don Seaborg with the U.S. Department of Energy. John Shipp and Ann Richards with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) provided an overview of the proposed sale of TVA’s mineral rights and the transfer of the Land Between the Lakes (LBL) from TVA to the U.S. Forest Service. The meeting included a field trip to Mammoth Cave National Park and to Eastview Barrens State Nature Preserve.
- Aug. 9, 2000 - Resolution supporting state or federal purchase of Redbird mineral rights from TVA.
Sept. 26, 2000 - The meeting, jointly held with the Northern Kentucky University, included a field trip to the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport to view deicing facility.
- Oct. 11, 2000 - Resolution regarding the Martin County Coal surface impoundment spill.
Nov. 28, 2000 - EQC meeting to discuss the Martin County coal slurry spill of Oct. 10, 2000. Speakers included: Allen Luttrel, deputy commissioner, Dept. for Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement; Bob Logan, commissioner, Dept. for Environmental Protection; Bob Ware, assistant director, Division of Water; Thomas Meikle, director, Surface Mining; A.T. Massey; Danny Cox, director, Environmental Engineering and Compliance, Massey Coal Services; Joseph Zaluski, attorney, Wyatt, Tarrant and Combs; Carl Boone, district manager of District 6, Pikeville; Frank Strunk, district manager of District 7, Barbourville; Richard Reynolds, assistant district manager of District 10, Madisonville; Robert Billamy, U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), Impoundment Division, Pikeville; Mark Skiles, director of Technical Services Support, MSHA, Arlington, Va.; and Gene Blair, coordinator, State Emergency Response Team.
