2006 Meetings

Over the course of each year EQC conducts many meetings and public forums and issues numerous recommendations and resolutions. Resolutions are denoted by bullets and are generally listed under the meeting during which they were approved. 

Feb. 13, 2006 - Meeting included discussion of air regulations, an update from the Clean Water Task Force, discussion of mountaintop removal and an update of upcoming legislation.

April 21, 2006 - Annual Earth Day Awards

June 8, 2006 - Meeting included discussion of the legislative session, upcoming underground storage tank regulations, endorsement of the Statement of Mutual Intent for the Appalachian Regional Reforestation Initiative, discussion of the EQC annual meeting, the approval of a mountaintop removal resolution and discussion of a noise control advisory committee.

July 24, 2006 - Meeting included approval of underground storage tank regulations, discussion of the watershed protection approach and discussion of four meeting topics for the next year.

Sept. 20, 2006 - Meeting included a recommendation regarding the noise advisory committee, approval of air quality regulations, approval of air quality redesignation requests, a presentation regarding recycling in Kentucky, a presentation regarding KY EXCEL and a discussion of formats and topics for EQC reports.

Sept. 29, 2006 - Ceremony with Secretary LaJuana S. Wilcher involving the presentation of the Mercury Task Force Report.  The Mercury Task Force included staff members from the Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet, the Commerce Cabinet and the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.   

Nov. 13, 2006 - Meeting included discussion of issues relating to human health and the environment.  Presentations were provided by Dr. Robert Jacobs (University of Louisville), Dr. Bernhard Hennig (University of Kentucky), Dr. Lisa Gaetke (University of Kentucky) and Tim Hubbard (Kentucky Division of Waste Management).
