The 1992 State of Kentucky's Environment report provided the first complete picture of Kentucky's environment. Seven major areas were reviewed in the report: water resources, air quality, waste management, toxics, natural resources, coal mining and energy. In each chapter, environmental indicators are assessed in order to determine if the investments Kentucky has made in protecting the environment are achieving results. The report is intended to provide state policy makers, as well as the citizens of the commonwealth, a better understanding of the environmental conditions in Kentucky and the many challenges facing the state in the 1990s and beyond. Copies of the report are available from EQC.
